DISCOVER : RESEARCH
The objective of this project was to understand what is inhibiting people of voting's age from participating in out opt-in democratic system and how can we increase participation in the democratic system. The intent was to uncover and define the individual reasons for not participating.
EXPLORATION QUESTIONS
What is the demographic of the greatest need to participate?
Increasing voting in which demographic would have greatest impact?
What needs are not being met by current system?
What barriers, if any, exist for voters?
Do people of voting age care about the political system?
Do people of voting age have necessary knowledge to vote?
Is convenience a factor in participation?
What would inspire people of voting age to vote?
RESEARCH PLAN
Phase 1 : Conduct survey through street intercepts of people who are of voting age, from a cross-section of out target groups to get an understanding of subgroups
Phase 2 : Conduct qualitative research through interviews with 20 people from the subgroups
Phase 3 : Gather and combine the team's ethnographic research to find patterns, insights and trends.

TARGET GROUP
10-30 year old school / college educated working or non working Americans, not race specific
Non registered voters of voting age who are disengaged with the democratic system and are a minority
Non registered voters of voting age who are disengaged with the system and are NOT in a minority
Registered voters who only vote sporadically
FEEDBACK
The voter's starting kits were mailed to some volunteers and their feedback was taken through
in person interviews or Skype and out-of-box video documentation. Some of the users also completed the
last step and shared on their social media for promotion
